Buying a second home

Published: 8 December 2011

Many people, whilst retaining their main residence in the UK, are interested in buying and owning a holiday home in France.

The principles relevant to finding your home, buying it and financing and structuring the purchase are the same as if you are buying a home in France to be your principal residence, and are covered elsewhere in this guide.

In the full Moving to France helpguide, we explain:

  • Legal points to consider
  • Practical tips on keeping your second home secure
